After a complete visit to its historical centre, you will reach the nearby Holy Mount, its highlight and a UNESCO Mankind site; here you will enjoy a panoramic walk overlooking the lakes, surrounded by nature, sipping the well-known Borducan elisir.

You will meet your local, private and licensed tour guide in Varese, for a private tour. Its visit links up the most representative civil and religious places, stopping at suggestive courtyards and hidden, up to Varese election as the “garden city”, when it became the seat of the Court of Francis III of Este Duke of Modena and also the selected area to build villas of pleasures, surrounded by big and luxuriant parks.

During your stroll, you will spent time in a historical café, in order to taste some local sweets and an expresso.

Then, you will enjoy an individual lunch at one of its cute restaurants. In the afternoon, transfer, by private car/minivan, to the Holy Mount, a UNESCO Heritage Sites since 2003. The about 2km-long cobbled route is dedicated to the cult of the Virgin and it is made up of 14 marvelous chapels of XVII cent., housing terracotta statues and frescoes telling the mysteries of the Rosary. The Sanctuary is perched on the top of the walking path. It is rich in works of art and, around it, there are a monastery, still now housing some hermit nuns, and a village full of history and charm as well as dotted with scenic views from where you can admire the natural beauty of the land and its lakes.

After the walk, you will enjoy an aperitif based on a local alcoholic drink made using orange and fresh herbs. Back to Varese by car/minivan.

MEETING POINT

The meeting point with the tourist guide or the private driver will usually take place in the lobby of the Client’s hotel if it is in THE HISTORICAL CENTRE OF THE CITY WHERE THE TOUR STARTS. Please, let us know the name of your hotel.

In case the Client’s accommodation is distant from the historical centers or if you come from other departure places, different meeting points will be communicated after the confirmation of the tour.

CANCELLATION POLICY

In case of cancellation of the reservation made by the buyer on the site, Travel-Lab/BookYourItaly will apply the following terms:

• Up to 21 working days prior to the start of the activity: full refund of the service paid by the buyer;
• From 20 to 10 working days prior to the start of the activity: 50% refund of the price paid;
• From 9 to 0 days prior to the beginning of the activity or non-use by the buyer of the service: no refund.

For counting the days the following rules apply:
• The day of the activity is not counted;
• The days begin at 00.00 and end at 24.00 hours in the time zone in force in Italy (GMT +1).

The reimbursement by Travel-Lab/BookYourItaly will be made within 30 working days by crediting the credit card used.
