First, you will meet your licensed tourist guide in Como and transfer by private car or minivan to Tremezzo, a charming village rich in history. Interestingly, Tremezzo is known for its role in the creation of the 1941 screenplay for “A Small Ancient World,” which the author Mario Soldati wrote alongside famed directors Carlo Ponti and Alberto Lattuada. From here, your tour begins with a visit to Villa Carlotta, an 18th-century mansion that the Marquis Clerici originally commissioned. Inside, you’ll explore a stunning collection of Neoclassical artworks by renowned artists like Antonio Canova, Bertel Thorvaldsen, and Francesco Hayez. Additionally, the villa’s botanical garden offers a peaceful stroll among a diverse range of trees from around the globe, making it a perfect spot to admire nature’s beauty.
Leisure Time at Lido di Lenno and the Famous Villa Balbianello
Following your visit to Villa Carlotta, a private car/minivan will take you to Lido di Lenno, where you’ll have free time to enjoy lunch at your leisure. Afterwards, the adventure continues with a private taxi-boat ride to Villa Balbianello. This magnificent 18th-century late-Baroque mansion sits on a breathtaking promontory overlooking Lake Como. Of course, Villa Balbianello is famous not only for its history but also as a filming location for blockbusters like Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002) and James Bond: Casino Royale (2006). Its lush gardens and stunning lake views make it an unforgettable destination.
Return to Como
