A pleasant walk to discover Compiano: thanks to your private tourist guide you will know all the secrets of this ancient inhabited place, counted among the most beautiful villages in Italy, with its cobbled streets and its wonderful landscapes overlooking the Taro Valley and then a visit to its imposing Castle, the Landi Princes’ ancient residence, later on mansion of a bizarre Marquise who devoted herself to the collection of furnishings and works of art.
You will meet your guide right at Compiano Castle for a private guided visit of the village; Compiano is counted among the most beautiful villages in Italy. That ancient urban conglomeration, mentioned since 1021, arose on the historical route that connected Emilia, Tuscany and Liguria and still today it dominates the Taro High Valley.
Then, you will visit the Compiano Castle for a visit to the museum collections kept inside the ancient stronghold, built to defend the Taro Valley, where you will enjoy the rich eclectic collection exhibited in those sumptuous rooms, tastefully furnished by their last owner, the Marquise Lina Raimondi Gambarotta.
Finally you might also visit, on your own, the International Masonry Museum, the only one in Italy, which is connected to the historical period when in 1823 and 1831 Compiano Castle was used as a prison and some political dissidents, exponents of the Carbonarist Movement and Freemasonry, were imprisoned there.
As happy ending: you will enjoy a delicious aperitif with local products, in total relaxation.
